What are they looking at??

So, Sean gets to sleep through the night & I get to sleep for a couple of hours in the morning while Sean and Gavin hang out together. They sometimes take pictures of themselves & this is what I find. Some strange goings-on in the early morning hours...(Joyce) Posted by Hello

10 weeks old today!

Well, here is how he looks during our morning conversations. Joyce has the night shift, feeding him still two times a night, and then dad gets him starting around 6 or 7 am. That is his "really awake" time. And he is really starting to make cooing sounds and smile back atchya when sung to. Yep, the website http://www.bussongs.com/ has come in real handy for those additional verses of "Camptown ladies", for example... Posted by Hello

Gavin's First Sail!

What a monumental day April 12, 2005, may turn out to be - at 8 weeks, 4 days old, he went for his very first sail on the San Francisco Bay on the newly-painted and overhauled Lightn' Up. If young master Gavin ever goes on to, say, bring home the gold in Olympic sailing someday, or (re)captures the America's Cup, then he can say it all started here! (Now, how's that for parental expectations?)

If you look closely in mom's foul-weather jacket, you'll see a well-bundled little boy snugly enjoying the ride!

OK, so it is true that he slept thru most of the sail (until he started to cry, then he and Mom went below to feed), but we can just tell that this sail has affected him deeply!

He even partook in some sail trimming. He's a natural-born sailor I tell you! (No, he did not tie that knot on the red line - but he could have if he wanted to!)

(A big thanks to Eric Foster for risking his camera on the high-seas to capture these images! Go to the "Tales from a Sailwhore" link thru the "Lightn' Up" link on this page for more pictures) Posted by Hello

What have I been tied up in!?!

Yikes! So, my parents went and bought this "wrap" and now I get tied up in it no matter how much I fight and flail!!!!Posted by Hello

Yikes! Is Gavin developing a parent favoritism already?!

Oh sure, when mom holds him he looks like this:

But when Dad holds him, he looks like this:

Finally though, when we break out the bottle, Dad gets a good picture in...

Look at those chubby cheeks!

Yep, he is definitely starting to fill out and get that baby fat. He is no longer the skinny little boy we brought home from the hospital.

The routine gets better slowly. He turned 7 weeks old yesterday, and he is, while not regular, at least somewhat predictable.

Look at those chubby cheeks! The 'chub' is starting to show up in his legs too, so now he looks a little more like a little boy and not so much like an old man!. Posted by Hello
