Happy Father's Day, Sean!!

Gavin gives dad his very first Daddy's Day present! Gavin took mom to a do-it-yourself pottery studio and made a mug with hand prints and this plate with foot prints. Gavin wasn't interested in sitting by himself that day, so mom had to hold him the whole time, so the 'art work' has Gavin's influence all over it. Dad was truly surprised! Posted by Hello

This is what they do on Sunday mornings! Posted by Hello

Sometimes, he just totally relaxes and enjoys hanging out in the garden. He is becoming more & more observant and especially seems to like watching the leaves russle in the trees and the water in the fountain.Posted by Hello

Aunt Melanie takes her hand at putting the little man to sleep. She was in town for work and tacked on an extra weekend to come hang out with us. Sleep was the topic of the weekend as we are trying to get him 'sleep trained' so he's able to comfort and put himself to sleep. It ain't easy, is it Auntie Mel??Posted by Hello

2nd night of sleep training

this is an audio post - click to play

Whew. This is one of the most difficult things we’ve ever had to do. We are working on getting little Gavin to learn to go to sleep on his own. Which he does not know how to do yet because we’ve been letting him fall asleep on the nipple since he was born.

Gavin's Busy Week...

He's finding his fist useful for comfort. That' s a good thing! It's tough getting him to sleep without mom feeding him down and we're trying to get him use to other means of crashing out.

Gavin's also developing quite the vocabulary. He's well beyond "ah-goo" and likes having conversations. We're not sure what he's saying, but it all sounds good! Posted by Hello

Guess who this is...the picture is about 41 years old! Posted by Hello

Wendy and lamb gets Gavin to sleep.

By the end of the week, Gavin was clearly recognizing Wendy & flirting up a storm. Posted by Hello

Happy Birthday Wendy

Well, we had a fantastic Birthday party for Wendy last night here at the house. Stephen and Wendy, who are in the middle of a month long drive around the country, went out to Pt. Reyes yesterday and bought a bag of 100 oysters. So we were shucking and slurping for the sunset while Gavin watched.Posted by Hello

Finally, Some New Pictures! ( Sorry for the delay, Tom)

Gavin's had a busy week. He was a bit grumpy earlier this week we think because mom had refried beans & jalapenos for dinner last Friday night. He also seems to be pre-teething - drooling alot, chewing on his hand, rubbing his jaw. Seven months is the average for teeth to come in, but they can get them as early as four months. Mazi, one of the boys in his mom's group, already has 2 teeth showing!

He also stayed at home with his 1st babysitter last night (thanks Tiffany!!) He did ok, but mom really has to let other people put him to sleep more at night. He's addicted to nursing to sleep, which makes it tough for anyone else to get him down. We're getting to go out again Saturday night when granddad Stephen with our friend Wendy (from England) are in town and volunteered to take Gavin on while we go to a birthday party. Posted by Hello

Uncle Fester Smile

Remember "The Munsters" T.V. show? Well, our little Gavin has been accused (and NOT just by his father...) of having an "Uncle Fester" smile... You be the judge.

Here he is shortly after that picture sleeping like, well, a baby. Posted by Hello
