Saturday turned out to be an absolutely gorgeous day, so we loaded up the car and went to watch Brian receive his Masters in Public Policy from UC Berkeley (the top school of Public Policy in the United States, we're proud to say). There were a bunch of news crews present, and we initially thought "Wow, it's great to see such local interest in the graduates", but we then learned that the graduates were going to have to take back seat (in the eyes of the news, anyway) to Warren Beaty, who was the commencement speaker. It was a helluva speach (read about it at: http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2005/05/22/MNGT0CT1I51.DTL), and the news crews were tripping over each other to be the first to report that Warren Beaty may, or may not, someday run for governor.
Gavin (not) watching the graduationNow, because this site is dedicated to Gavin, we'll just say that Gavin has already had his brush with fame when, while walking around at the post graduation reception, Warren's wife Annette Benning saw Gavin and said "What an adorable baby...". Yep, Gavin's got recoginition already.
Brian, forgive me for posting the picture, but you had your brush with fame too and it must be posted:
