Some shots from the Weekend...

Gavin goes for a walk in Tilden Park
And Gavin climbs stairs in Tilden Park - - He loves to climb stairs....
Gavin and Alexander watch on in amazement as Sophia shows them how the stool spins!
And the upiquitous naked little boy shot: It was a warm Memorial Day and Gavin and Max play with the bathtub and in the pool.

Fashion Faux Pas

Yes, this will be one of the shots when Gavin is older, that he will say "Who dressed me that day?". Well, the answer is that his parents did, and allowed him to be seen in public, as parents have for generations. The truth is that he was wearing pants, but hey, "cotton kills" when it gets wet, right?

And he definitely likes to get wet when he goes to the beach... Posted by Picasa

Yeah, let's go ahead and put the yoke of responsibility upon these two, who in the act of "starting a blog", will now have to answer to the demands of a never-satiated audience who "reads your blog everyday" and then says "hey, when are you going to put more pictures up?!". The pressure can be overwhelming. (Those of you have have owned and operated a blog at some point in your life know what I'm talking about.) So as we wish them safe in their travels, they'll also have to use that camera they got for graduation.........

Without going into too much detail, 'cause that's what their blog is for, Emilie and Brian are traveling through Thailand and Cambodia and then to France for a little while as well. As posted previously on this blogsite, Brian just graduated from Berkeley and Emilie is coming back next year. I'll let them tell you more, but be sure to follow their travels every now and then. http://emilie108.blogspot.com/

Granddad and Grammy Sue come to visit!

They were out here for Brian's graduation and we all went into The City for a tour of the Ferry Building and Justin Herman Plaza.

PS Note that blue shirt that Gavin is wearing is Sean's from when he was that age... Still looks good after all these years, huh?

Brain graduates from UC Berkeley (again)

Yep, Uncle Brian got another masters degree from Berkeley on Friday - when are you gonna get a job?! Here's a picture of the family for the festivities (we had to take the picture quick, because Gavin went to sleep on mom's chest.) Posted by Picasa

Our Annual KFOG Kaboom!

Well, it was our annual trip to the KFOG Kaboom this last Saturday night. Joyce and Sean were trying to remember how many of these we've been to on a boat, and we think this was our 7th year. But we know for sure that this was Gavin's second. (By the way, I guess we didn't take many pictures last year, but check out how small he was at 2005's kaboom here about half way down the page)
So here's the boy motoring over in the afternoon with his parents and the rest of the gang.

And here is the benefit of getting there early - - the best real estate on the water with no boats between us and the barges that'll show up at dusk.
And it's not like we missed any of the party, we just brought the party with us.
We take our canopies on deck very seriously...
We saw friends we know on other boats,
and made new friends too.

Gavin helped with some of the steering. Our fearless skipper! ("Fearless" because she agreed to host all of us...)

It was a beautiful night, and you know the show is about to start when the "Spirit of San Francisco" paddle boat shows up.
Gavin had the best seat in the house!

KABOOM!

And finally, we are safe and sound back at the dock and driving home. It was a very late night for the little man (he didn't get to bed till about midnight), but he and his parents got to sleep in late on Mother's Day Sunday (which is almost as good as the show the night before)

It was another stellar evening on the water and a huge thanks to all our friends who made it happen. We will be back to do it again next year, no matter where we're living...

PS - To see what we got to see from, like, almost directly under it, go here and click on either WMP or Quicktime.

The birthday boy in his birthday suit!

Here's a couple of pictures on the deck from a couple of weeks ago. Gavin turned 15 months old today! Posted by Picasa

Did we mention that we were moving to the top of the world?

Sorry for the long time no post, but we just got back from a long trip to Mammoth Lakes, California. Here is a family picture from near the top of Monitor Pass, south of Lake Tahoe on the way to Highway 395.
There is still alot of snow in Mammoth (they ski resort will be open this year until July 4th apparently), although it is definitely warm enough to wear short sleeve shirts. Note that waterfall just to the left of Gavin, which is mostly covered by snow exept that patch that is visible.
We are very much going to miss all of our friends in Point Richmond and the SF Bay Area! We can not tell you how difficult this decision to move is - we will miss the sailing lifestyle and everyone on the boat Lightn' Up and everyone at the Richmond Yacht Club. We will miss Gavin's nanny, Laura, immensely. And we will miss Point Richmond. Please know what a great opportunity this is for all of us and that we will visit regularly.
